Acne, pimples, zits, comedones, blemishes, spots. In Asian skincare, they are referred to as troubles, which I think is the cutest, least disgusting way to talk about acne lol.

I am cursed with oily, acne prone skin, so when Memebox released their Free From Oil and Trouble Superbox, I jumped on it.

1. Skin 1004 Foam Foam Cleanser Morning & Night (90ml/2 bottles/$35)

These are two coordinating cleansers, one containing protective ingredients like argan seed oil and edelweiss extracts for a gentle cleansing in the morning and a stronger deep pore cleansing formula with lavender and lotus. These both are foam cleansers.  I've used different moisturizers for night and day, but I've never done two different cleansers for night and day. I'm intrigued by the concept.

2. Milky Dress Anti-Trouble Body Mist (80ml/$23)

Worth the entire cost of admission! What a clever product, a spray to help get troubles that pop up in the hard to reach areas! I tried the Murad version, and it was not effective, so I am really excited to try this.

3. Dermahouse Pore Tighten Ample (30ml/$22)

Ampoules are something not usually sold in the US markets. They are more concentrated versions of serums, with more of the active ingredient. They often have the higher price tag to match as well.  This goes on after your skincare routine to tighten large pores and treat and prevent dark spots.

 4. Yuri Pibu Parsley Herb Toner (150ml/$23)

This is a gentle moisturizing toner that is supposed to be used after cleansing night and day.

5. L'Ocean Pink Powder (20ml/$24)

Excuse the picture, my bottle was still mixed from transport. The fluid is supposed to be in two layers, a yellow layer on top and a pink layer on bottom. The top layer has BHA and AHA and the bottom layer contains calamine and volcanic ash. You stick a Q Tip into the solution and dab into the bottom layer. You then apply it to any blemishes and leave on overnight.  I have never tried a solution like this, but I hear they are very effective. FYI, do not shake!

6. Tosowoong Silk Touching Powder (10g/$34)

This a transparent powder that offers a soft silky texture that claims to last all day. The directions say to spritz onto fabric, clothes and anywhere else for an instantly refreshing feel, which I assume is misprint from a different item. I assume this is either a finishing powder or a priming powder, but if anyone knows better, let me know!!

Memebox Milk!

Another memebox! This is the milk one, I purchased in a bundle with Whole Grains and Oriental Medicine. I figured milk does a body good ;)

When I opened this box, I thought it smelled wonderful. The culprit is the first product listed.

1. Hello Everybody Bubble Steam Milk Bath (25g/$4)

This smells sooo good. I think it's the combination of almond oil and chamomile and vanilla. Can't wait to use it.  I've never used bath powder before, so I hope it's good and bubbly and pleasant smelling. The description claims it softens skin, but I look for more yummy, relaxing smells in my bath products than skin benefits, since I always lotion up afterwards. Am I alone in that?

2. Hello Everybody Nature Holic Body Lotion Milk (300ml/$25)

This is generous sized body lotion. The scent is a little lemon-citrusy (there's lemon balm in it) which is ok to me, but if you are sensitive to fragrance, I'd give it a skip. The lotion is very thin in it's consistency, and I do prefer a thicker formula.  The lotion is made from organic goats milk, and does leave skin soft and non-greasy. It absorbed fast as well. This was the weakest link in this box for me, but is something I will still use.
                                             

3. Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub (25g/$11)

I like lip scrubs, but I never remember to use them. I need to keep them out by the bed. I currently have a philosophy one that I feel like I've been using forever. So, needless to say, I haven't tried this. I am a little iffy, this came in either Chamomile Milk or Peach Milk. I got Chamomile Milk, so I'm a little hesitant about the taste.  This scrub contains sugar, milk, peach, chamomile and bees wax. If you've never used a lip scrub before, the process is simple. You roll a bit of scrub on dry lips to get the flakies off. Then you remove the dead skin with a warm towel or washcloth. It's recommended to apply a lip treatment or chapstick afterwards. It sounds painful, but it's really not, and I have a low low tolerance for pain.

4. Pure Smile Milk Mask Pack (23ml/$1)

 I love love sheet masks, I will never be able to get enough of them. In fact, I am kicking myself for not getting Memebox Mask Edition 4 :(  This is a Milk Essence Mask, with Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E. It's supposed to be moisturizing, anti-aging and smoothing for uneven skin texture. Sheet masks, for the uninitiated, are little paper masks from heaven, coated in a serum, that you place on your face from anywhere to 15 minutes to 30. 

5. Skin Ceramic Donkey Milk & Argan Oil Multi Steam Cream (100g/$34)

 This is the product I am most intrigued by. This is essential a face cream, but made from donkey's milk and argan oil. Memebox claims that donkey's milk is more nutritious than cow or goat milk. Now, I love me some goat milk, but I have never had anything made with donkey's milk. I'm a little curious, I might need to go on a Strange Foods expedition and try some donkey milk or donkey milk cheese.  Anyway, although this has the word steam in it, you just apply it as the last step in your skincare routine. It's supposed to be intensive hydrating, so my oily skin might need to wait till winter to try this. Btw, there is no smell, donkey or otherwise, from this cream.

6. Enesti Rice & Milk Foaming Cleanser (120ml/$15)

This a foam cleanser made with rice and milk, that's supposed to deep clean pores, moisturize and brighten. I always get a chuckle since I see many Asian skincare lines claiming to give you translucent skin. Like see through? Like one of those genetically modified goldfish?

7. Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack Milk ($1)

Another lip patch! Going to save for when I need to fake Angelina Jolie lips.

New Addiction! Memeboxes!!

So I am not really great so much at the regular posting, yea? I do have a ton of boxes, hauls and stuff to show you guys, so hopefully I can update more often than biannually!

Isn't the box cute? Very sturdy and it always feels like opening a present with the pink packaging the little box on top.

 What I love about Memebox is that they include a card that describes all the products and how to use them, since many of the products are in Korean.

Let's pretend like I know how to take a picture.

1. Grinif Nature Oatmeal Scrub Bar (130g/$9)

This is a cleansing bar for your face, but I may try it on other acne prone areas as well. It is organic and handmade with oatmeal, rice bran, mung beans, red beans, shea butter and jojoba oil. It is meant to deep cleanse skin, as well as nourish and moisturize. It has a pleasant, spicy smell to it, reminds me of some of Lush's products.

2. Herbclinic Rice Bran Powder (80g/$8)

This is the only product in the box I'm meh about, only because I don't want to have to mix my own stuff! LAZY ORZ. This is Rice Bran Powder that is supposed to mixed with oatmeal, black bean or brown rice as well as milk to make a facial mask.  It is claims to be nourishing and revitalizing.  I think by black bean or brown rice they mean some sort of powder, because I feel like whole beans on my face is really weird, even for a country with snail facials.

3. Purebess Galactomyces 100% (50ml/$15)

Before getting this, I had no idea what galactomyces were.  Apparently it is a fungi.  The galactomyces are fermented to get a filtrate that is used as an ingredient. This is an essence, and the directions say to use as the first step of skincare. I consider cleansing my first step, and then toner (American), so I figure it would be after those two steps, since it doesn't say to wash off.  Anyway, this essence is supposed to lock in moisture, remove fine lines, brighten skin and rid pores of residues.

4. Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream (50ml/$20)

Fungi eyecream!! The description for this was the same as for the essence, but I assume the eye cream will not be getting rid of pore residue. My guess is the benefits would be moisturizing, brightening, and lessening fine lines.  I don't have fine lines yet luckily, but I could pass as a panda, so definitely excited to try this.

5. Purederm Anti Stress Heat Therapy Mask Oatmeal (150ml/$12)

So amped to get this. It just sounds so relaxing.  This mask opens pores with heat to get rid of residues in the pores, while delivering nourishment and moisture. It also claims to help skin elasticity and your overall complexion. 

6. Purederm Rice Bran Collagen Mask (18ml/ 2 masks/ $5)

Sheet masks are my obsession. There is nothing more relaxing than kicking back with a sheet mask on. This mask contains rice bran, plant collagen and vitamin E, and claims to brighten and smooth dull skin.

7. Purederm Daily Moisturizing Hand Mask Oatmeal ($7)

I have never tried a hand mask before, but I am pretty excited to do this. Especially since my hands are peeling right now from my sunburn.  You are supposed to wash your hands with warm water, then wear the hand masks like gloves for 20-30 minutes, so pick a day to try these when you don't have to do anything.

 8. Purederm Invigorating Foot Scrub Walnut (25ml/$4)

At first when I got this, I thought of how bad everyone says the St Ives Walnut scrub is. But feet have thicker skin, so I guess the walnuts in this will cause less damage.  The scrub says it can also be used on elbows and knees.  Afterwards, you will have smoother, cleaner, softer feet! I do have some dry, rough skin on my feet from the amount of time I spent barefoot on my latest vacay, so this could be a godsend.
