Revenge of the Masks!!

So,   this will be a fairly picture less post, as I had to get the offending items off of me and out of my house as quickly as possible, but I wanted to alert my dear readers as so to protect their precious skin.

Recently, Sephora launched new masks for $6 a piece on their website. As they are quick filler items, and the bath pods and hair ties are gone, I know many of my fellow Sephorites throw them in to hit a minimum shipping or promo code requirement. I was one of those hapless fellows, and grabbed the Yellow Ginseng Mask.

This is a single use mask that Sephora claims will tone and revitalize. When I opened the mask, I was overpowered by the smell. It was disgusting, like leftover sushi and ginger. I am not sensitive to scents, but I was almost unable to bare it. I decided to power through it, since ginseng can be a powerful smell. The mask tingled a bit when I put it on, but I thought it might be an effect of the toning and pore properties. That was a mistake, and I should have taken it off at that point. I left it on for the full 15 minutes, and my face was red when I took it off.  My face felt extremely oily and greasy afterwards. There was no toning, brightening, replumping or other effects like Sephora claimed. The next day, I woke with a huge huge red angry pimple. I had made no other new additions to my routine, so I can only assume it was because of the mask. I am not sure if this mask is the sole bad apple out of the group, but it has made me wary of buying any of the other masks in the Sephora line.

Buyer beware!!!

XOXO
